Traveling (especially two women alone) never comes without its share of mishaps. We have been fortunate enough to stay in some beautiful places and great hotels - but some places, including this Airbnb that we booked in El Nido, lack proper security. We know to be diligent and take proper precautions, but you never know what you're going to encounter. Our room was broken into while we slept last night. Money was stolen, but thankfully nothing else. We woke up to an open door, which is right next to the bed, and our items scattered outside. We are feeling pretty violated to say the least. To all of my fellow travellers out there, especially women, it doesn't matter whether your place is $20 a night or $300 a night, make sure you have local emergency contact info and 24 hour security. And now that this is done with and we are checking into a new hotel, we can continue enjoying this beautiful country.

There were moments today where I would literally have to sit in silence for a moment in order to take everything in. With so much beauty everywhere you look, it's almost hard to process it all. Also, zoom in for a very weird-looking hand. . . Check my insta story for more of our adventure.
