Camping in the shadows of Mount Whitney gave me a taste for this great place. I've always looked up to the adventures of John Muir and dreamed of doing the JMT. This trip made the desire burn even brighter and I can't wait to make it back to the Sierras for a longer stay.

Windy nights and memories to last a lifetime (including me getting run over by a tumbleweed and losing a battle with the wind)

Happy first day of spring! Or as we call it in Montana, happy two more months of winter!

For two and a half years I've carried an Irish blessing in my wallet along with a four leaf clover pendant. I was given these at my Irish grandmother's memorial, and I cherish them still. Wanderlust ran deep through her veins and I'm grateful to have those traits running through mine. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.

I live for the simple nights away from it all. Just watching the sun go down and the blue hues replace the gold light and soon to be replaced by a sea of stars. It doesn't take a lot of money, or fame to find these moments either. These happen every day, all around us. Love the little things.

One of those mornings that is good for the soul. Grateful to have made a wrong turn last night and to end up in Butte with great people.

Learning through life that people come and people go. It's a process of embracing those who stay, and letting go of the ones who choose to walk away.

It's good to be back in Montana and sharing time with so many other fine folks at the conference. I always leave here feeling inspired by these individuals and the passion they have for the state I call home.

The best rewards come from the hardest trials. I'll never forget climbing up Angel's Landing in the dark to have the famous view to ourselves.
