It has been such a pleasure to show you around Albuquerque! I sincerely hope that you make it to this Southwest gem sooner rather than later to enjoy the food, outdoor activities, culture, people, chill vibe and more. . If there is anything else you'd like to know about ABQ, ask away in the comments! I wish you all a great week ahead and a Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate. - ✈️

See what it's like to walk around Old Town Albuquerque, the heart of the city since the early 1700s. It doesn't feel big when you first walk in, but there are over 150 shops to explore in addition to its main square where there is sometimes live music. Here, is where we also finally ate a stacked enchilada (delicious). I thought it would be easiest to convey how charming and fun it is with a little slideshow. Do you have a favorite thing to do in Old Town Albuquerque? -

Another thing that has impressed us about Albuquerque is the quality of its museums. Several of the best are all within a block or two of each other and Old Town which makes ABQ a VERY easy destination for families. . At the Natural History & Science Museum, skeletons of Seismosaurus, Saurophaganax, Stegosaurus, and one leg of a Brachiosaurus are highlights in just this one room (they also have a skeleton of the largest T-Rex ever found)! Earlier in the morning we explored the Albuquerque Museum of Art & History (highly recommend) and next are off to the Explora Science Center across the street. All have hands-on fun for all ages! . It is worth a trip to Albuquerque alone just to visit Petroglyph National Monument. . It's actually in the city so no long road trips are required. And, there are an estimated 24,000 of these rock carvings throughout the park that were created by Ancestral Pueblo people and then later also by Spanish settlers. Long story short, there were volcanic fissures and the lava made it so that one could carve into the rock to reveal a lighter color beneath. Albuquerque's high and dry climate preserved a lot of these culturally-significant drawings. . We were excited to spot the macaw petroglyph, which happened to be on the shirt my daughter bought in the Visitor Center (let's just say she forgot to pack a few essentials). . What is your favorite National Park in/near Albuquerque? -

Good morning! Blue corn waffles, anyone? The food in Albuquerque is worth a trip. Our driver from the airport said, "We don't do much bad food here." He's so right. . My daughter's avocado toast is as big as her head and the bacon on my husband's Bloody Mary is a meal in itself. I put both in the stories. . What is your favorite thing to eat in Albuquerque? -

San Felipe de Neri Church was built in 1793 and it's one of the oldest buildings in Albuquerque. It's in the center of Old Town, you can't miss it (the towers serve as a nice point of reference when we walk around the area), and they still hold mass here. The interior is well-preserved, too. . Speaking of historic buildings, we're trying New Mexican fare at the Church Street Cafe behind the church for dinner as it's only a few minutes' walk from our hotel. The restaurant's recipes date back four generations and it's in one of the oldest buildings in the entire state (they think 1706). Stay tuned as I’ll post some food photos in the stories! . Have a favorite historic spot in ABQ? -

Hi! I'm Katie from the travel and lifestyle site, La Jolla Mom, which is named after our San Diego community. My husband, 10-year-old daughter and I are taking a fabulous trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It's a place we've always wanted to visit because of its rich history, nearby National Parks and food culture. There is so much more to love about this friendly city and I can't wait to show you we’re up to here and on my personal account. Have you been to ABQ? -

Can you guess the volcano? Hint: it’s definitely not Mount Rainier.
