Photograph by // We sat quietly in our small boat while a young female polar bear contemplated our presence. It is fun to watch how they deal with the fine balance between curiosity and fear. She wanted to come close and check us out but she was also a bit nervous. She must have started to walk away over thirty times before immediately turning around to come and inspect us. Eventually, she wandered off down the beach. She was an incredibly healthy looking little bear and it was great to see a bit of animal fat still stuck to her nose as she would have feasted recently. on to see another young bear floating by on a chunk of sea ice.

Paddling amongst the ice really puts things into perspective. In a similar way to seeing ocean swell rolling in, you never really know how big the icebergs are until you're staring at them face to face. However the ice out here must be treated with caution, potentially flipping over at any moment. What seems so tranquil can be the most gnarly sight in an instant. Cheers to for the equipment 🤙🏼

Iceland 🇮🇸 may be one of the smallest nations in Europe, but it happens to be the location of many of the continent's most impressive waterfalls - like this one here. Who of you guys know that special feeling of getting soaked all over?

took this photo of the Grewink , near the fishing and tourism town of Homer, Alaska. In recent years, vast physical distances have become less limiting, bringing conveniences. But what does that mean for the state’s identity? Senator Lisa Murkowski’s recent votes against repeal of the Affordable Care Act reinforced the perception that people in are go-it-alone independent thinkers, shaped by their far remove from the more settled, politically divided lower 48. But many longtime residents, writers and business people in Alaska said that the sense of “only in Alaska” exceptionalism is fading. High-speed internet is reaching tiny villages, opening communities to greater connection with the outside world. Dan Fischer, an artist in Homer, has long depended on tourists for a living in selling art. Amazon upended all that, he said, by connecting him and other artists with new supply lines and buyers around world. About 70% of Mr. Fischer’s art lamps, made from local beach stones, now ship out through Amazon, he said — up from 0 less than 2 years ago. Homer as an art colony, he said, is not the same. “We gained access, but lost some of our uniqueness,” he said. Visit the link in our profile to read more.

I have a huge respect for Nature in general. But when it comes to high mountain, where colors fade to white and lines are curves, where the air is so thin and the water solid, my respect turns to admiration.

Anoche dormimos en una pequeña granjita del sur, con el paisaje de los glaciares de fondo. El Vatnajökull es el casquete glaciar más grande del planeta después de los polos. Oh! farm photography collector outfit
