The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jason Clarke is in talks to join the cast of Damien Chazelle’s upcoming Neil Armstrong biopic “First Man”. The film, which also stars Ryan Gosling, Kyle Chandler and Corey Stoll, is written by Josh Singer and hits theaters on October 12th, 2018. “First Man” is “described as a visceral, first-person account of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on the years 1961-1969 and Armstrong, the astronaut who became the first man to set foot on the moon. Based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on the nation — of one of the most dangerous missions in history.” “Gosling is playing Armstrong, Chandler is test pilot Deke Slayton and Stoll will play astronaut Buzz Aldrin.” “Clarke will play Ed White, the first American to walk in space who later died in an Apollo mission testing accident.” What do you think of Jason Clarke joining the cast of Damien Chazelle’s “First Man”? Let me know in the comments! Movie

People of Earth…we happily introduce you to America’s ! These 12 humans were selected from more than 18,300 applicants, which is more than double the previous record of 8,000 set in 1978. These astronaut candidates will return to Johnson Space Center in August to begin two years fo training. Then they could be assigned to any of a variety of missions, including: performing research on the International Space Station, launching from American soil on spacecraft built by commercial companies, and departing for deep space missions in our Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket. Applicants included U.S. citizens in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories Puerto Rico, Guam and America Samoa. The talented women and men selected for the new astronaut class represent the diversity of America and the career paths that can lead to a place in America’s astronaut corps. Credit: NASA craft

Man-Machine: 's rover saw this crater during 45th anniversary of Apollo 16's trip to Earth's moon. The rover mission team informally named it "Orion Crater" in honor of that Apollo mission’s lunar module. The crater is about 90 feet (27 meters) wide and estimated to be no older than 10 million years. Swipe ➡️ to see the full panorama.

From NASA: Mark your calendars! For the first time in 99 years, a total solar eclipse will occur across the entire continental United States, and we're preparing to share this experience of a lifetime on Aug. 21. Viewers around the world will be provided a wealth of images captured before, during, and after the eclipse by 11 spacecraft, at least three NASA aircraft, more than 50 high-altitude balloons, and the astronauts aboard the International Space Station – each offering a unique vantage point for the celestial event. More information is at http://eclipse2017.nasa.gov Seen here is an image of the moon crossing in front of the sun was captured on Jan. 30, 2014, by our Solar Dynamics Observatory observing an eclipse from its vantage point in space. The final stage in the evolution of a star similar to our sun…also known as a planetary nebula. Glowing like a multifaceted jewel, this nebula will gradually disperse into space over the next several thousand years, and then the star will cool and fade away for billions of years as a white dwarf. Our own sun is expected to undergo a similar fate, but fortunately, this will not occur until some 5 billion years from now. Credit: NASA/The Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA) ( for and ) lovers
